It is a wonderful guide if one is afraid, confused, lonely, angry, and is looking for something that will help. This is a wonderful story of a Jesuit priest who was imprisoned in Russia in World War II. It is inspiring and uplifting; the author tells his story simply, but with a great understanding of the needs of his companions.
This book will help people with addictions and works well with a twelve step program. This is one of the best Spiritual Books I have ever read. If you have trouble with God or you idea of God this is a must read.
This book has literally changed my way of relating to every day situations - it has changed my life. This book is excellent. I encourage everyone to READ THIS BOOK. I have already given a copy of this book to three other people, and have a couple extra copies to share with others down the road. Fr. Ciszek's experience of captivity in Russia reveals a level of spirituality that we all go through, no matter what the trials.
With regard to Walter's Canonisation, I do believe he is more than worthy of the cause but in my mind, he is already Canonised because he is with the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit and all the Angels and Saints for Eternity. The Father is constantly challenging and guiding in his own special way for all of us and I am truly blessed for having read and appreciated the extraordinary contribution that Walter has had on so many of us. Obviously, I have never met Walter in person but with the Father's / Christ consent, I hope to one day meet Walter in Eternity. Dear Fellow Readers,I thought I would share with you an email below that I sent to the Walter Ciszek website regarding the cause for his Canonisation. He Leadeth Me, William John Matthew Cummins Sydney There is no doubt in my mind / soul that the Father guided / lead me in his own special / mysterious way to read the account of Walter's life. Dear Fellow Christians, It has been some time since I have read, He Leadeth Me by Father Walter Ciszek and managed to reflect on Walter's life. Very few Christians, besides Christ and some of the well known Saints would have endured and suffered as much as Walter had endured and suffered in his life, which for me is truly inspirational and transforming.
Ciszek went through pure torture while he was serving his sentence out in Russia for being a "spy". I purchased this book because it is going to be our first book to be discussed at our book club meeting at church. Ciszek's testimony and receive some more strength to carry on. It was an inspiration to me and any time that I think that times are getting too tough to handle, I can go back to this book and Fr. The book was easy to read and understand. Fr.
